A66 Roadworks and Traffic Lights Results in Penrith Gridlock

All roads in and around Penrith have become gridlocked with tailbacks on the Southbound M6 are back beyond J41 with traffic queuing to J40 as the A66 is held up due to traffic lights and roadworks at East of Kemplay Roundabouts at the former Lama Karma Cafe.

Traffic has blocked the A6 through Penrith as vehicles exit the M6 at J41 trying to avoid the tailbacks on the M6.

Congestion in Penrith has also blocked many of the towns residential streets ahead of the evening rush hour.

Drivers are reporting delays of upto an hour currently on the M6, A66 and A6 around Penrith with delays of 30 minutes on many roads through
