A66 Between Scotch Corner and Barnard Castle Road Works with convoy in place.

UPDATE 23:00.

The A66 westbound between the A1M and the junction with the A67 was to be closed for emergency roadworks closing both lanes and the Eastbound section reduced to one lane between the junctions with the A67 and the A1M.

National Highways have said the they have now implemented a convoy system to enable traffic to travel Westbound with a 5 minute wait for each convoy run. The convoy and restrictions will remain in place until 6am Wednesday morning (16th August) to enable emergency works to be carried out.
