Yellow Weather Warning issued for Rain on Wednesday Afternoon

Yellow weather warning issued for heavy rain over the next few hours with a yellow weather warning issued for most of the UK by the Met office that is expected to bring flooding and travel disruption.

The weather warnings for Cumbria is in place from lunch until midnight for heavy rain with the potential to bring flooding to some areas along with travel disruption and power cuts.

Areas of rain could be heavy in places, are likely to push north across the warning area, with a few places perhaps getting a longer spell of quite intense rainfall. If and where this happens, 50-80 mm of rain could be seen falling within around 6 hours, although a lot of places will probably see closer to 20 mm along with isolated thunderstorms possible.
