The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across Cumbria and the North West.
The warning comes into force from midnight until 11 am on Tuesday morning with most areas of Cumbria expected to receive 1-2 cm of snow, up to 5 cm could fall over areas of higher ground.
The Met Office has warned there could be disruption to travel, with roads and railway likely to be impacted. This on top of the already severe disruption to rail travel with the WestCoast mainline closed at Clifton and trains operating via the Settle Carlisle line.
