Work to Repair Burst Water Mains Causing Traffic Congestion in Penrith

Traffic lights for works to repair a burst water main on Brunswick Road is leading to traffic delays along Ullswater Road and Brunswick Road today.

The leak to the water mains was first reported to United Utilities on Thursday afternoon when water started bubbling up through the road surface near Booths on Brunswick Road.

United Utilities engineers arrived on Friday afternoon to locate the leak that is still ongoing with the water now filling the excavated hole and a large amount running down Brunswick road and onto Duke Street.

Delays for traffic travelling along Ullswater Road and Brunswick Road are currently between 15-20 minutes with traffic back to the junction with Hawswater Road.
