Westmorland and Furness landmarks to be illuminated for Remembrance

Westmorland and Furness Council is illuminating landmarks over the weekend to mark Armistice Day (11 November) and Remembrance Sunday (12 November).

From dusk on Friday until Monday, Penrith Town Hall and Kendal Town Hall will be illuminated red, and Barrow Town Hall will be illuminated in the colours of the Union Jack as a tribute to all the service men and women who have lost their lives in times of conflict.

The council is also displaying the symbolic red poppy on many of its buildings, libraries, care homes and vehicles to show support for the Armed Forces community.
