WestCoast Main Line Do Not Travel Warning Due Overhead Power Line Damage

Due to damage to overhead electric wires between Lockerbie and Carlisle as a result of fallen trees across the line. The WestCoast main line is currently blocked in both directions. As a result, Avanti WestCoast are advising customers not to travel north or south of Carlisle today, 30 June.

If you were due to travel today between London and Scotland, your ticket dated 30 June can be used on any Avanti West Coast train via the same route tomorrow, 1 July.

Alternatively, if you abandoned your journey as a result of today's disruption, you can claim a fee-free refund from where you bought your ticket.

If you continued with your journey but were delayed by 15 minutes or more, you can claim Delay Repay compensation from the train company you'd booked to travel with.
