Veterans Breakfast Serves Up for Penrith Christmas for Toy Appeal

The Penrith armed forces veterans breakfast club had a “fabulous turn out” on Saturday, with 19 veterans from all services, attending the Penrith/Eden Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club held at Penrith Premier Inn

Those attending donated gifts and money used to buy over a hundred pound of additional gifts for the Penrith Armed forced breakfast clubs, Penrith Salvation Army Christmas Toy Appeal.

Kerryanne Wilde one of the organisers of the veteran's breakfast club in Penrith said, “they had a fabulous turn out on Saturday” adding “Thank you to all who donated gifts and those who gave money to buy gifts.”

“You are an amazing group of people, who always come through for those less well off than ourselves, and I thank you all so much for your support.”

The Salvation Army is asking the community support them with the donation of new toys to its Christmas Present Appeal and support local families who will struggle to make ends meet over the festive season.

Last year the Penrith Salvation Army were able to provide new toys and gifts to 360 children in the local area.

If you would like to make a donation of a toy to the appeal, you can take along to the Penrith Salvation Army at Hunter Lane or Email penrith@salvationarmy.org.uk
