Lloyds Banking Group has revealed another 45 branches are to be shut, 22 Halifax branches, 19 Lloyds branches and 4 Bank of Scotland business next year.
Among the list of closures are both the companies branches in Penrith. The Halifax on Middlegate and Lloyds Bank on Kingstreet will close on the 19th of March 2024.
The nearest Lloyds Bank and Halifax branch for customers from March will be in Carlisle or Kendal.
A spokesperson said: "The way customers choose to bank with us has changed rapidly in recent years, and we now offer a wide range of options for their everyday banking needs.
"This includes our mobile app, online and over the phone. Customers can also bank with us through the Post Office, in a Banking Hub or by speaking to a Community Banker.
The company has confirmed that it’s Halifax Penrith branch on Middlegate will close from March 19th along with the Lloyds Penrith branch on King Street that will also close on March 19th 2024.
