Amidst the changing face of Penrith's high street two local family run businesses in town are this week celebrating decades of serving customers in Penrith.
Arcade Pet Store in Penrith’s Devonshire Arcade is celebrating its 70th anniversary in the town and celebrating the shops 9th year under its current owner in Penrith’s original indoor Victorian shopping arcade.
Harpers Cycles and Toymaster are also celebrating 55 years in business. Now located on Middlegate, the business first opened its doors in Castlegate on the 2nd June 1969.
Both independent family run local businesses have seen many changes in retail and in Penrith since first opening up for business decades ago but both have continued to provide friendly local service to customers over the decades as two of the towns long established retail businesses.
