Penrith Town Council at its meeting on Monday 15th December 2025 resolved to request an in-person meeting with the Environment Agency to discuss the formal testing of chemical emissions in Penrith.
The town council hoped that it would be possible to schedule a meeting with the Environment Agency early in 2026.
The town council wrote to the Environment Agency requesting a meeting but has had no response or engagement from the Environment Agency to its request for a meeting.
The town council has this evening voted to write to the Penrith MP to raise the lack of engagement by the Environment Agency and to raise the environmental concerns with the Secretary of Stage via the MP.
