Counting in the Penrith Town Council By Election that has seen Four candidates battling for the vacant seat Penrith East Ward seat has concluded and the Westmorland and Furness Council deputy retuning officer Linda Jones has announced the winner with 319 votes as Ron Kelley the Liberal Democrat candidate.
A total of 550 votes have been cast by voters in the Penrith East Ward with one rejected ballot paper.
229 votes were cast in person at the polling station on Thursday with 251 postal votes cast.
