Three Overnight Closures of the M6 between Penrith and Shap Start Saturday

National Highways are carrying out bridge inspections and progressing bridge repairs on the M6 between junction 39 and 40.

To complete work safely, National Highways need to close the motorway overnight between 10pm to 6am on Saturday 22nd November, Tuesday 25th November, southbound closed and Monday 24 November, northbound will be closed between 10pm and 6am

Signed diversions for M6 traffic will be via the A6 between Penrith and Shap.

National Highway said “We’re working overnight when traffic is lowest and have speed restrictions on the diversion to reduce disruption.”
