Three arrested after police incident closed M6 at Tebay Services

The three people are now in police custody, following arrests on Thursday evening after a police incident around Tebay Services on the M6 motorway.

Two males aged 32 and 39 were arrested along with a female aged 35 who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three currently remain in police custody.

The motorway was closed for a time in both directions as police filled the service area and a police aircraft searched the area during the incident.

Lancashire police who led the operation on Thursday evening said: "We would like to thank colleagues Cumbria Police and the National Police Air Service for their help and members of the public for their co-operation and understanding."
