After the disappointment of the cancellation of this years Winter Droving due to safety concerns over weather there is some good news, The Droving will March on with the highlight of the winter Droving the parade taking place as part of this years Penrith Sparkle event and Christmas light switch on on the 22nd November.
Penrith BiD has worked with Eden arts who organise the Winter Droving annually to bring the Droving parade through town this year as part of the Christmas sparkle event.
Kevin Beaty chairman of Eden Arts said “after the disappointment of having to cancel this years winter Droving due to weather safety concerns we are delighted to be able to work with Penrith BiD to bring the Droving parade through the town as part of the Penrith Sparkle Christmas light switch on celebration”
“The Droving has its own unique style and event but after the disappointment we are pleased the drovers will fill the streets of Penrith after all”
The Penrith Christmas Sparkle event takes place between 2pm and 7pm on Saturday the 22nd November and as well as the winter Droving parade that will take place at 5pm the Sparkle event will have roaming performers through the afternoon along with live music food and drink stalls and activities including Santa, face painting, workshops and small rides.
