National Highways are reminding drivers traveling on the M6 today (Sunday 27th July) of a slow-moving vehicle heading North along the M6.
The slow moving vehicle is transporting a supergrid transformer from Heysham to Harker, Carlisle that departed Heysham in the last few minutes on just after 9am.
The slow moving vehicle with support vehicles is travelling from Heysham docks to Harker via M6 Northbound with the convoy taking up lane one and two including through the roadworks and lane closures between J39 and J40.
Long delays around the convoy could occur as it moves North along the M6. National Highways have asked drivers to have Care and patience when overtaking, when possible, in lane three.
Subject to delays it should pass by Penrith around 12:30pm We will update on the expected time as the convoy of vehicles travels North.
