Skelton Show Dinner Dance at Roundthorn Raises £800 for The Great North Air Ambulance

Skelton Show dinner dance was held at the Roundthorn country house hotel on Friday night, where 110 people including the Show committee and friends of the show came together for a night of good craic and dancing to Only Smith & Day.  


In his speech outgoing show chairman Colin Atkinson praised the hard work of everyone involved in organising the show and in particular Skelton Young Farmers who were a tremendous help this year. 


Mr Atkinson said “he was very proud of the involvement of our local Young Farmers and the Skelton Show had a very bright future with their dedication.”


All guests agreed that the Roundthorn team had put on a fantastic meal, guests enjoyed a three-course dinner that included Twice Roasted Featherblade of Beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, rich gravy and the  Roundthorn Sticky Toffee Pudding butterscotch sauce, Toffee Shop fudge among the choices on offer.


A raffle held on the night at the Skelton Show dinner dance raised £800 for the great north air ambulance.


The committee are now hard at work on preparations for next year’s Skelton Show that will be held on Saturday 6th July 2024 at Hutton in the Forest.
