Seven Nights of Overnight Closures on A6 Southbound at Kemplay Roundabout Starts Tonight

The A6 southbound between Kemplay roundabout and Eamont Bridge will be closed overnight (8pm – 5am) between Monday 21 July and  28 July.

The closures is to allow National Highways to carry out work to instal access into land next to the fire station to perform utility diversions.

A signed diversion route will be in place during the closures. National Highways are asking drivers to plan journeys accordingly and allow extra time to complete journeys during the closures.

The diversion routes during the overnight closures are:

HGVs will be diverted along the A66 to the M6 junction 40, then south along the M6 to junction 39, before taking the A6 north to Eamont Bridge.

National Highways will divert all other traffic along the A66 towards Rheged, south along the A592 towards Pooley Bridge, before taking the B5320 to rejoin the A6 at Eamont Bridge. A6 Southbound diversion route.

The A6 between Clifton and Eamont bridge is also due to be fully closed overnight on Tuesday from 6pm until 6am Wednesday morning for resurfacing work.
