The full scene of destruction in Penrith this morning following last night’s devastating fire which broke out in a barbershop shop located in the heart of Penrith's town centre, leaving a scene of destruction in its wake.
The fire, which started around 9 p.m., quickly engulfed the ground floor business premises and caused significant damage to multiple flats on the upper floors due to fire and smoke.
Fortunately, a group of heroic young residents alerted the occupants of the flats to the raging fire beneath them, ensuring their safe evacuation. As firefighters arrived on the scene, the residents managed to escape the potentially life-threatening situation.
"We will be talking later today with the group of young heroes who selflessly alerted and assisted the families and residents in the flats, ensuring their escape from this devastating inferno”.
