Saturday will see Another Slow Moving Abnormal Load Heading North Along M6

National Highways are reminding drivers traveling on the M6 on Saturday (10th May) of another slow-moving vehicle will be heading North along the M6.

The slow moving vehicle will be transporting a 530 tonne transformer from Heysham to Coalburn in Scotland that will get underway around 6am on Saturday morning from Heysham.

The slow moving vehicle with support vehicles is travelling from Heysham docks to Coleburn via M6 Northbound with the convoy taking up lane one and two including through the roadworks and lane closures between J39 and J40.

Long delays around the convoy could occur as it moves North along the M6. National Highways have asked drivers to have Care and patience when overtaking, when possible, in lane three.

Subject to delays it should pass by Penrith around 12:30pm We will update on the expected time as the convoy of vehicles travels North on Saturday.
