Police in Penrith seized a vehicle over the weekend as the white van had no insurance, tax, MOT, or named keeper and the driver had only a provisional license.
The van was initially stopped by police as part of ongoing investigations and enhanced patrols following burglaries in the area.
Cumbria Police said: “The occupants of the vehicle were stopped and searched under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act to search for articles to steal.”
The four occupants were searched, but no items were found by officers.
