Police continue appeal for witnesses following Tuesday’s M6 collision

Police are continuing to appeal for information following a two-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway of the M6 approximately half a mile before junction 40. 

The collision involved a HGV and a Seat Tarraco and occurred at 1:12pm yesterday (April 7).

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

A rear seat occupant of the Seat was taken to hospital via air ambulance with life threatening injuries, he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Seat was uninjured. Two other occupants suffered minor injuries.

A closure of the M6 between J41 and J40 was in place until 7pm yesterday (7th April)  whilst officers investigated the collision.
