Plans have been submitted for the development of 53 houses along with site accesses and associated infrastructure in the North of Penrith on land along Inglewood road. The site encompasses the southern part of Lakeland View Caravan Park and the adjoining field to the south.
Local family run developer Willan Living based at Brougham have submitted the planning application to Westmorland and Furness council to build the development of 53 homes including 15 properties that will be sold at a discounted price as the affordable homes contribution.
The development will see a mix of nine property designs throughout the 53 houses proposed for the site with a mix of 2,3,4 and 5 bed properties including bungalows along with a public green space with wetland area and native trees and shrubs.
Along side national planning rules and the Westmorland and Furness Local plan form Eden area the development like all plans in Penrith will now be required to align with the Penrith Neighbourhood Plan policies when planners consider the application.
Penrith Town Council planning committee will meet on Monday evening to consider its response to the planning application as a consultee ahead of Westmorland and Furness Council planners determining its decision on the application.
The full plans for the development can be viewed on the councils planning portal at https://planningregister.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk/Planning/Display/2024/2352/FPA
With the public consultation period open until the 22nd of February 2025.
