Parts of Penrith will head to the polls to elect town councillors on Thursday

Penrith will head to the polls on Thursday to vote for candidates to become town councillors.
Polls will open at 7am until 10pm for voters to cast a ballot, but only in parts of Penrith residents in Penrith East, Carleton and Pategill will not get to cast a vote for any councillors on the town council as the elections for the wards were uncontested.

The polling station for Penrith North is located at Methodist Church Hall Wordsworth Street.
Penrith Town Council Penrith South Ward 2 seats up for election
Candidates standing for election in Penrith South Ward are:

SMITH, Danny Labour Party
The polling station for Penrith South is located at Penrith Cricket Club Wetheriggs Lane.
Penrith Town Council Penrith West Ward 3 seats up for election.
Candidates standing for election in Penrith West Ward are:
JAYSON, Barbara Liberal Democrats
KNAGGS, Dave Labour Party
SNELL, Hilary Labour Party
THOMSON, Jeff Independent
The polling stations Penrith West are located at Castle Town Community Centre for polling card numbers NC1 to NC1326 and The Salvation Army, Hunter Lane for polling card numbers ND1 to ND740.
Voters will also for the first time require ID to cast a ballot and polling stations will refuse those without valid ID.
You can use any of the following accepted forms of photo identification when voting at a polling station.
Passport issued in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, British Overseas Territory, an EEA state or a Commonwealth country
Driving Licence issued by the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or EEA state.
A Blue Badge
Older Persons Bus Pass
Disabled Persons Bus Pass
Identity card bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram (a PASS card)
Other government issued documents
Biometric immigration document
Ministry of Defense form 90 (Defense Identity Card)
National identity card issued by an EEA state
Electoral Identity card issued in Northern Ireland
Voter Authority Certificate
Anonymous Elector's Document
You only need to provide one form of photo ID and it must be the original, not a photo copy. If your photo ID has expired you can still use it as long as the photo still looks like you. The name on the document used for ID should also be the same name you used to register to vote.
In Penrith North 2802 will have a vote, Penrith South 1684 will have a vote and Penrith West 2066 will have a vote.
Polling stations will be open from 7am and close at 10pm with the election count due to get underway shortly after the polls close with results expected before midnight for the three town council wards.
