Around 50 tractors, both vintage and modern, took part in today’s Newton Trailers Charity Tractor Run and Show, raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK and Jigsaw, Eden Valley Hospice.
The convoy began and ended at the Newton Trailer Centre in Newton Reigny, where tractors were on display before the convoy set off at 10am. Special guest Reuben Owen and his team also attended, bringing their tractors to support the fundraising efforts and joining the convoy run.
The Tractor Run attracted a good crowd of visitors, who enjoyed watching the convoy make its way through the area and later exploring the show with the tractors on displays back at the Trailer Centre.
Alongside the tractors on show, stands were hosted by Prostate Cancer UK and Jigsaw, Eden Valley Hospice, while Field to Fork from The Sun Inn, Newton Reigny, provided catering. Visitors were able to enjoy breakfast baps from 8am, followed by traditional Cumbrian food served at lunchtime.
The convoy returned to the Trailer Centre at around 1pm, when the afternoon programme continued with the tractor show, competitions – including throwing the horseshoe and lifting the battery – as well as a charity raffle and auction.
