A new launderette has officially opened at Newton Rigg Estate and is now open to the public, marking another milestone in the ongoing redevelopment of the former Newton Rigg campus.
The facility has been introduced to support local residents, visitors, and businesses, while contributing to the wider regeneration and long-term development plans for the estate.
A spokesperson for Newton Rigg Estate said:
"The opening of the launderette is another practical step in bringing the old campus back into active use. It provides a valuable service for the local community while supporting our wider vision for the gradual and sustainable development of the estate."
The launderette is easily accessible and fitted with modern equipment designed to meet everyday laundry needs. The site features four 10kg washing machines and two 10kg dryers, all operated via a one-touch payment system. Detergent is included through a self-dosing system, and the facility is open 24 hours a day. For more information contactEnquiries@newtonriggestate.co.uk
