Penrith May Day Carnival is set to return to the streets of
Penrith for its 40th Anniversary.
The annual May Day carnival organised by the Penrith Lions
Club volunteers will hold its 40th Carnival in the town after a 3-year
absence due to the impacts of the pandemic.
The events will commence in Penrith on Monday morning from
10:15 with Family games and fun in Devonshire street. With a family fun packed
day promised across the town centre with entertainment music and even a Punch
and Judy show in St Andrews Church yard.
A Trampoline in Sandgate leading on to the Fun Fair in
Sandgate Carpark will all set the scene for the days main event of the Grand
Parade through Penrith that will commence at 14:30.
A full Penrith Lions May Day Carnival programme has been
created to mark the day produced by Lee Quinn for Penrith Lions.
The Programme is available through local businesses in the
town and will also be available from a special Eden FM outside broadcast
location on May Day.
Eden FM will be broadcasting live from the back of an
Ambulance located near the Musgrave Monument in the town centre.
The ambulance is due later this week to head out to Ukraine with
the team from The Pot Place at Plumpton who will be on hand collecting donations
on May Day.
The roads through the centre of Penrith will be closed to
traffic for the duration of the May Day carnival event with diversion routes
signposted around the town.
Sandgate carpark is closed from Sunday afternoon until
Tuesday morning with the funfair and events located in the areas.
