A man who carried out a series of burglaries across the Eden area has been sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison.
John Moorehouse, 31, of Chinewood Avenue, Kirklees was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on Tuesday 1 September.
Moorehouse committed a series of burglaries in June 2024 and a further burglary in January 2026, targeting properties across the Westmorland and Furness area from Thrimby to Coniston, and the surrounding areas.
During the offences he stole jewellery, cash and electrical items.
Moorehouse was also convicted of escaping lawful custody.
Detective Sergeant, Ryan Smith said: "Burglary is an invasive crime that can leave victims feeling distressed and unsafe in their own homes.
"Moorehouse's actions caused considerable upset to those he targeted and I hope this sentence provides reassurance to the victims and local communities affected.
"We remain committed to identifying and prosecuting those responsible for such offences."
The investigation forms part of Operation Themis - Cumbria Constabulary's response to and focus on burglaries.
