Man charged with criminal damage following incident in Penrith

A man from London has been charged with criminal damage after an incident in Penrith Town Centre in December.

Anil Puri, aged 56, of Stanstead Road, London has been charged with two counts of criminal damage.

The man has been charged with the criminal damage to planters and the town’s Paddington Bear statue in Little Dockray on 2 December 2024.

He is due to appear before Carlisle Magistrates court on 14 March 2025.
