Man charged after officers uncover £100,000 of cannabis in vehicle near Penrith

A man has been charged by detectives from Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) team after his vehicle was stopped near Penrith yesterday afternoon (17 Dec).

Mantas Sulman, aged 35, of Fortress Road, Norfolk was stopped by officers. Upon a search of his vehicle, officers located 10kg of Cannabis with a potential street value of £100,000.

Sulman was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court today (18 Dec).

The seizure and investigation forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
