Police stopped a vehicle this morning (Tuesday 18th June) at around 9:45am on M6 southbound near Penrith. One occupant of the vehicle made off from officers at the sceneleading to a chase through woodland and fields around Clifton.
The male in his 30's was detained near the A6 in Clifton following a short chase by
officers at jus tbefore 10am.
The man was arrested on suspicion of failing to
comply with immigration bail and remains in police custody.
