National Highways had planned an overnight closure of the M6 Southbound on the 17th May as part of the Lowther Bridge works but has announced the overnight motorway closure will now take place this Saturday (10th May) to link with Network Rail who are starting bridge pier works on Clifton railway bridge as part of the the £60 million project to replace the railway bridge carrying the West Coast mainline across the M6.

The night-time closure on Saturday 10th May of the M6 southbound between junction 40 to 39 will be in place between 10pm Saturday to 6am Sunday.
