M6 Closed between Penrith and Carlisle in both directions.

The is fully M6 closed in both directions between Penrith and Carlisle after crash involving lorry and van.

The M6 has been closed between junctions 41 and 42 following a crash involving lorry and van. Diversions are now in place via the A6.

The closure was reported by National Highways just before 7am this morning with the northbound carriageway closed. 

Cumbria Police has now confirmed that the M6 southbound is also fully closed between junction 42 and 41.
