Traffic is currently facing lengthy delays on the M6 and A66 with traffic tailbacks beyond J41 of the M6 for traffic trying to exit on J40 onto the A66 that is also facing tailbacks beyond the Rheged roundabout and along to Kemplay Roundabout.
Reports of drivers facing 40 minute delays between J41 and J40 currently.
Traffic trying to avoid the congestion on the M6 and A66 is also causing congestion through Penrith with traffic backed up through TownHead as traffic exits at J41 and uses the A6 to Kemplay Roundabout.
Allow extra time for your journey if you are heading out this Bank Holiday afternoon on the roads.
