Local Poppy Appeal launched in Penrith today with an event at new Squares

The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal has been launched in Penrith today with an event at new Squares.

Military personnel, veterans and volunteers gathered at Penrith New Squares with a collection of vintage war time vehicles on display to mark the beginning of the local fundraising.

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legions flagship campaign held every year in November. 

Founded in 1921, the Appeal raises funds for the Royal British Legion’s vital work supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families throughout their lives with whatever the need, whenever it’s needed.
