Local Charity Founder Shortlisted for Northern Power Women’s Awards 2024

The Northern Power Women Awards 2024 celebrate remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions in their fields, communities, and society as a whole in the Northern regions. The awards aim to highlight and amplify the achievements of game changers who are making a positive impact, advocating for change, and acting as agents of progress.

CERT (UK) Ltd founder & CEO Kerryanne Wilde has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Norther Power Women’s Awards 2024, in the Person with Purpose Category.

CERT (UK) was established after Storm Desmond hit Cumbria in 2015 as the Eden Flood Volanteers.

In 2015 when Storm Desmond hit Cumbria, Kerryanne, responded to a post on Facebook and started pulling together volunteers to help people affected by the floods in the Eden area initially. But it became apparent to Kerryanne and the volunteers that there was a longer term need for flood support and those in crisis, emergency or disaster in Cumbria and throughout the UK.

Kerryanne is well known for her enthusiastic approach to those in crisis, emergency and/or disaster and breaking down barriers and stereotypes when supporting and working with those who have disabilities and/or additional needs, while challenging the status quo and promoting the development of all whether they be paid or voluntary personnel.

By November (2023) Cert (UK) had achieved £5.7 million-Est of goods received in donations, £5.65 million-Est distributed and has helped and supported and estimated 57,436 families & businesses across 13 counties within England, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Borders.
