Time is running out to apply for Westmorland and Furness Council’s apprenticeship opportunities.
With applications closing at midnight on Sunday 16 March 2025, now is the time to take the first step towards a rewarding career in local government.
The apprenticeships span a wide range of roles, including Vehicle Maintenance, Project Management, Highways and Engineering, Finance and Accountancy, Business Administration, Digital and Data, Health and Social Care, Catering and more – with opportunities from Level 2 to Level 6 (degree-level).
The council have said that many successful applicants go on to secure permanent roles with the council, gaining valuable skills and experience to build long-term careers in local government.
Former business administration apprentice, Lexie Steel, is among those who have successfully secured a full-time role with the council.
Lexie said: “My apprenticeship gave me the chance to learn new skills, gain experience, and work with a supportive team. I’m proud to now be part of Westmorland and Furness Council and look forward to continuing my career here. It’s been an amazing journey, and I would encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship to apply!”
