Drivers area been reminded that junction 39 of the M6 is closed until Friday 11th October the full closure of J39 including north and south bound slip roads and the bridge was put in place today Monday 7th October to enable Westmorland and Furness Council contractors to carry out carriage ways replace work on the B6261 that crosses the M6 at junction 39.
Diversions are in place with traffic using junction 40 and the A66 to Kemplay Roundabout and the A6 to Shap along with Southbound traffic that have missed J40 at Penrith diverted off the M6 at Junction 38, Tebay bringing vehicles back onto the M6 northbound to J40.
The £60,000 resurfacing work is scheduled to be completed with the junction reopened to traffic by 6pm on Friday the 11th October.
Traffic travelling on the M6 is unaffected by the work on the junction and bridge.
