Yes it’s only 76 days until Christmas Day, Penrith is gearing up for another magical Christmas lights switching event to make Penrith once again sparkle for Christmas.
The Penrith Business Improvement District (BiD) is busy preparing to once again transform the town and get everyone into a festive spirit with a dazzling Christmas lights display.
The big switch on event is taking place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, between 2 pm and 7 pm, promising a day of entertainment for the whole community.
The highlight of the event is undoubtedly the lighting ceremony, which will see the town sparkle with the Christmas lights.
The Christmas Sparkle big switch on celebrations organised by Penrith BiD promise an array of entertainment for all ages. From lively performers and live music to a plethora of activities and food and drink offerings, there will be no shortage of entertainment.
This year will also see again a festive Tractor Parade through the town bigger than last year. Entry is £20 and payment must be made at least 7 days in advance. (No on the day entry) with a maximum of 50 entries.

Penrith.Town will inviting you to vote for your favourite Penrith Christmas window display in the Penrith People's Christmas Window Sparkles award and enjoy the town trail map touring the town’s businesses taking part.
Penrith residents and visitors alike will be invited to participate in the voting for their favourite Christmas display as part of the magic of Christmas in Penrith.
Penrith.Town are from today inviting businesses across Penrith, in the town centre, the town’s industrial estates and the many other locations businesses are located across the town to take part in this years Penrith's Christmas Window Sparkle Award.
