Here’s the latest Skelton Show news straight from the Show Field.

First the BIG question everyone’s asking after a bit of rain today -Is the Show still on?

WELL, YES IT IS !

The 129th Skelton Show will go ahead tomorrow as planned despite the rain this afternoon. The shows dedicated volunteers who make up the Skelton show Committee with help from the Skelton Young Farmers Club have pulled out all the stops and worked tirelessly to ensure the show field is in good condition and traders have been able to get onto site safely to set up.

The committee have taken the decision to move the show jumping moved to Murray House for safety reasons, but all other classes are going ahead and will run as normal.

With the latest weather forecast looking better tomorrow, all they need now is for you to come along (in your wellies ) and enjoy a fabulous family day out in the countryside supporting british farming and Local Businesses.

The shows organisers have said this evening  “while we can’t promise you a completely dry and sunny Skelton Show, we can promise you a great family day out with great entertainment, lots of cuddly animals, craft & gift tents, food hall with cookery demonstrations, industrial marquee, vintage vehicles and much much more!”

Skelton Show Chairman Nina Oxley, on the eve of the 129th Skelton Show said:

“We’re all super excited to welcome you to the 129th Skelton Show tomorrow – Saturday, 5th July!”

“After months of planning and a huge effort this week from our amazing volunteers, the showfield is looking fantastic and ready for you. Rain or shine, we’ve got a brilliant day ahead – so dig out your wellies and raincoats, bring the kids, the dogs, and your sense of adventure! “

“Almost 700 sheep, plus cattle, horses, and a record number of vintage entries”

“Horse showing, Concours d’Elegance, fancy dress, and even the mounted police horses, Dog show and an astonishing number of hound entries; bring your terriers and pets on the day too!”

“@TasteSkelton Food Hall filled with delicious local produce, Craft, gift, and trade stalls

“Live music from Penrith Town Band and The Folkin Teachers (from 5pm by the bar!)”

“Main ring fun with the Biking Vikings, mountain bike stunt man, Bubble Whisperer workshops, and the return of the ever-popular scurry racing!”

 Please note that, as a rural venue WiFi is limited, so visitors are requested to purchase tickets online in advance and/or bring cash on the day.

Skelton Show is taking place at the Old Park at Hutton-in-the-Forest near Penrith, just three miles from the M6 (Junction 41).
