First the BIG question everyone’s asking after a bit of rain
today -Is the Show still on?
WELL, YES IT IS !
The 129th Skelton Show will go ahead tomorrow as planned despite the rain this afternoon. The shows dedicated volunteers who make up the Skelton show Committee with help from the Skelton Young Farmers Club have pulled out all the stops and worked tirelessly to ensure the show field is in good condition and traders have been able to get onto site safely to set up.
The committee have taken the decision to move the show jumping moved to Murray House for safety reasons, but all other classes are going ahead and will run as normal.
With the latest weather forecast looking better tomorrow,
all they need now is for you to come along (in your wellies ) and enjoy a
fabulous family day out in the countryside supporting british farming and Local
Businesses.
The shows organisers have said this evening “while we can’t promise you a completely dry
and sunny Skelton Show, we can promise you a great family day out with great
entertainment, lots of cuddly animals, craft & gift tents, food hall with
cookery demonstrations, industrial marquee, vintage vehicles and much much
more!”

of vintage entries”

the mounted police horses, Dog show and an astonishing number of hound entries;
bring your terriers and pets on the day too!”

Craft, gift, and trade stalls
“Live music from Penrith Town Band and The Folkin Teachers

Skelton Show is taking place at the Old Park at Hutton-in-the-Forest near Penrith, just three miles from the M6 (Junction 41).
