Part of the A686 Eastbound between Kemplay Roundabout and Carleton underpass will be closed overnight for four weeks from Tuesday 26th August 26 and the 20th September between 8pm and 6am each night.
The road will be closed between Kemplay Roundabout and Carleton Underpass.
The closure is to allow for work by National Highways to install access into land next to the north of the A686, next to Penrith hospital, to perform utility diversions as part of preparation work ahead of the A66 upgrade that will see Kemplay roundabout replaced by an underpass and 2 bridges.
A signed diversion route will be in place.
HGVs will be diverted along the:
A686 east
then north along Beacon Edge and Salkeld road before taking the A6 north to stoney beck
then west along the B5305
join the M6 southbound at junction 41 to Junction 40
then join the A66 east towards Kemplay roundabout.
All non-motorway traffic will be diverted:
along the A686 east
then north along Carleton Road and Roper Street
before taking the A6 south to Kemplay roundabout.
National Highways have advised to allow extra time for your journey during the works.
