Four candidates have been nominated for the Westmorland and Furness Council Penrith South ward by election that will see voters heading to the polls on Thursday 12th March.
Westmorland and Furness Council issued the Statement of Persons Nominated for the vacant seat shortly after the closing on nominations at 4pm today.
The following candidates have been nominated to stand for election to the Penrith South Ward:
Emilia Louise Hoffmann – The Green Party
Michael John Houston – ReformUK
Barbara Jayson – Liberal Democrat
Maiki Tolmie – The Conservative and Unionist Party
As more than one nomination was received Westmorland and Furness Council had confirmed that a by-election will be held in the Penrith South Ward on Thursday 12th March 2026.
Penrith.Town will invite all four candidates to introduce themselves and why they are standing in the election.
Plans are also underway for hosting a hustings event that all four candidates will be invited to take part and answer questions from voters across the ward.
