A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service Member and former Penrith AFC player Stu Forrester, has been selected as a member of the England Fire services football team.
Stu Forrester, is Crew Manager at Carlisle East Fire Station, he was invited to attend a trial game during a selection process held in July, at Ilkeston Town Football Club.
The former Penrith AFC player impressed the England fire services football scouts enough to be selected for the national squad.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: “Congratulations to Carlisle East Fire Station Crew Manager Stu Forrester, who has been selected to represent the England Fire Service football team for the 2024/25 season.
Stu has been selected for the first match day squad of the season, which will see the fire services team play against the Royal Air Force on Wednesday, September 18, at Royal Airforce Cosford Stadium, kick off at 18.30pm.
