Former Halifax Branch goes on the Market

The former Halifax branch at 41-42 Middlegate closed last month and has over the last week had equipment and furniture removed from the three-storey building.

The property has now gone up for sale with a quoting price of £150,000 for the freehold property.

International commercial real estate firm CBRE are marketing the property and describe the Middlegate property as extending over three floors with the ground floor consisting of the former main banking hall and meeting rooms. The upper floors have been under-utilised for storage, but have good residential potential which should provide value to investors.

Best and final offers for the freehold interest will be invited by a date to be confirmed after an initial 8-week marketing period. With the quoting price set at £150,000 and a rateable value of £14,250 per year with the current business rates payable estimated at £7,110.75 per year.
