End Of An Era As The Little Chippy Owners Serve Last Bag Of Chips Later This Month

It will be the end of an era at The Little Chippy later this month as owners Chris, Liz and Clare prepare to serve their final customers after selling the business.

The Penrith takeaway that has been run by the same family for over 40 years will serve up it's last fish and chips under the current owners for the final time on Thursday 24 September, with the owners now preparing to say goodbye to customers who have supported them over the years.

The announcement was shared with customers this week, with the owners describing the news as “bittersweet”.

They said: “After many years of serving our wonderful customers, we have some bittersweet news to share.

“The Little Chippy has now been sold, and our last working day will be Thursday 24th September.”

The owners took the opportunity to thank everyone who had supported the business during their time running The Little Chippy.

“We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to every single one of our customers for your support, custom, conversations, laughs and loyalty over the years.

“It truly has meant so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful to have had such amazing customers.”

And with their final service now just around the corner, they are hoping to see plenty of familiar faces before they finish.

“We would absolutely love to see as many of you as possible one last time before we finish, so please come in, say goodbye and enjoy your favourite chippy while you can!”

There will be a slightly different experience for customers during the final week, however, as the owners begin running down their remaining stock.

The menu will be smaller than usual and some items may become unavailable as the week goes on.

The owners said they hoped customers would understand that they were doing their best to manage stock during their final days of trading.

For Chris, Liz and Clare, Thursday 24 September will mark their last service at The Little Chippy and the end of their chapter running the business that was put up for sale in February.

They ended their message with another thank you to the customers who have supported them.

“Thank you again for everything. We really hope to see you all before we go!”

With the final service approaching, customers have just a short time left to call in for one last favourite from The Little Chippy before Chris, Liz and Clare hand over the business to its new owners to begin the next chapter for the business.
