Emergency Road Closure Put in Place after Sewer Collapses

Westmorland and Furness Council have put an emergency road closure in place on Inglewood Road due to the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a collapsed sewer.

The council has put a 21 days closure in place to enable the collapsed sewer is repaired a d reduce the risk posed to the public.

The closure of Inglewood Road is anticipated to be required for 8 days during the closure a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Access for Emergency Vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of these works.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed via the unrestricted sections of Inglewood Road, Salkeld Road, Scotland Road (A6) and Stoneybeck Roundabout.
