A driver has been arrested after officers from the Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped a vehicle on the A66 on Saturday evening.
The stop followed concerns about the driver allegedly buying and selling large quantities of counterfeit goods in Cumbria.
Officers searched the vehicle and found large quantities of imported cigarettes along with cash. The cigarettes are suspected to be counterfeit.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of fraud under Section 6 of the Fraud Act.
The vehicle was also seized and removed by police as it is suspected of being used in crime.
