Cumbria Charity Convoy and Gathering gets underway

The Cumbria Charity Convoy and Gathering is underway with a convoy of tractors and trucks making its way around the local area over the next few hours and due to pass through Penrith around 1:30pm.

Last year the charity event raised £15,000 this year they will be hoping to top that for their chosen charities Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Cancer Care Unit at Cumberland Infirmary.

The convoy set off from the show field this morning and will be returning to the field around 2:00pm. Donation buckets will be following the convoy for anyone wishing to contribute.

Alongside the convoy, the gathering has a host of activities. From tractor pulling and lawn mower racing to trade stands, and live music, there is something for everyone. Food and drink stalls, a licensed bar, and evening entertainment will also be on offer, including a charity auction on Saturday night.

10:00am – Convoy departs (returns approx. 2:00pm)

10:30am – Gates open to the public, family activities begin

10:30am–12:00pm – Tractor pulling (Leyland Tractor Pullers)

12:00pm–2:30pm – Tractor pulling (Power Pulling Association)

12:00pm – Lawn mower racing

12:00pm – Licensed bar opens

2:00pm – Laser clay shooting and tractor dyno

2:30pm–5:00pm – Tractor pulling (Leyland Tractor Pullers)

5:00pm–7:00pm – Tractor pulling (Power Pulling Association)

7:00pm – Live music from Jason Arnup

8:00pm – Charity auction

9:30pm – Tractor pulling (Leyland Tractor Pullers)

Sunday 14th September Highlights

10:00am – Gates open, tractor dyno and family activities begin

11:00am – Laser clay shooting

12:00pm – Lawn mower racing

12:00pm–2:30pm – Tractor pulling (Power Pulling Association)

4:00pm – Gates close

Admission is £15 for adults, £8 for children, and £40 for families (2 adults, 2 children). Under 5s go free.

All proceeds will go to two important causes: the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Cancer Care Unit at Cumberland Infirmary.
