Council AGM will be held on Thursday after first full year of operations.

Westmorland and Furness Council will meet in Kendal on Thursday afternoon for the councils second annual general meeting since it replaced the former county council and three district councils on the 1st of April 2023.

The council members will elect the chair and deputy chair of the council before been asked to approve changes to the council’s constitution that will agree to remove the Highways and Transport Strategic Board (HTSB) from the Constitution and for the business of the HTSB to be subsumed within the ordinary Cabinet meetings.

Councillors will also be asked to vote on council representatives on outside bodies and agree the allocation of members of the council on the council’s various committees including the area boards and local planning committees.

The councils AGM will be held at county hall in Kendal at 1:30pm
