Eden FM was the first community radio station to launch in Cumbria back in 2010 as a project, that switched on as a trial community station in 2011 before Ofcom granted a full community licence the station has recently had renewed by Ofcom for for Eden FM’s third five year Term.
As a community radio station its Ofcom licence prevents the station from operating like a commercial station with the amount of on air advertising revenue capped at £15,000 a year.
As a self funded radio station, Eden FM have to raise funds every year to remain on air 24 hours a day with 18 volunteers age from 14 to plus 70, of all abilities.
All funds raised will go towards basic equipment like, headphones, new studio chairs, essential IT components and equipment that keep Eden FM Community Radio on air.
In 2024 the Eden FM team will contribute close to 10,000 voluntary hours in supporting the local community.
The community station has setup a GoFundMe page ready to receive donations to the cause, which is to raise much needed funds for Eden FM, to upgrade and improve studio equipment so the volunteer run community radio station can continue to improve the sound quality and efficiency of their output.
Any donation will be gratefully received and much appreciated the volunteers at the community station.
